Nexdge is not an alternative to Cursor and could not be one: it does not write code. It exists because of tools like Cursor, and the developers using them are who it was built for.

Cursor is an AI code editor that generates and edits code. Nexdge is an independent review layer that checks code after it is written, whoever or whatever wrote it. They are not substitutes. The reason to run both is that a model reviewing its own output is not an independent check on it.

What Cursor is

Cursor is an AI-native code editor. You describe what you want and it writes and edits code across your project. It has made a genuine step change in how quickly working software gets built, and nothing here disputes that.

The same is true of GitHub Copilot and Claude Code. All three generate code, all three are good at it, and Nexdge competes with none of them.

If you want an AI editor, get one of those. This page will not try to talk you out of it.

What Nexdge is

Nexdge reviews code after it exists. Five specialists check it for security, reliability, business logic, performance and quality, rewrite what fails, and scan the rewrite before returning it.

It is independent of whatever produced the code, and that independence is the entire argument. Asking a model to review its own output asks it to find the reasoning it already believed was right. The mistakes it is most likely to make are precisely the ones it is least equipped to notice.

Nexdge also reports an AI origin probability on submitted code, which tells you how much of what you are reviewing was generated in the first place.

The onesworth asking.

Is Nexdge an alternative to Cursor?
No. Cursor writes code and Nexdge does not write any. They sit at different points in the same workflow: Cursor produces the code, Nexdge checks it before it ships. Developers using Cursor, Claude Code and Copilot are the people Nexdge was built for.
Cursor can already review its own code. Why add anything?
Because that is not an independent review. A model asked to check its own output is being asked to find the flaw in reasoning it just concluded was sound, and the errors it is most likely to have made are the ones it is least likely to spot. A second system with no stake in the first answer is a different kind of check. That is also why Nexdge runs on two independent model providers rather than one.
Does Nexdge work with Claude Code and GitHub Copilot too?
Yes. Nexdge reviews code, not the tool that produced it. Paste it, review it in VS Code, or let the GitHub App review the pull request. Nothing about the review depends on which assistant wrote the code.
What is AI origin probability?
A score from 0 to 100 estimating how likely it is that the submitted code was generated rather than hand-written. It is useful when reviewing work you did not write yourself, and when a team wants to know how much of a codebase arrived by generation.
